So vermeldet es zumindest das britische Käseblatt die britische Boulevardzeitung “The Sun”, immerhin eine der einflussreichsten Zeitungen des Landes.

Zum Vergleich erst einmal der Bericht der BBC:

Blade falls off wind farm turbine

Engineers are investigating why a blade more than 20 metres (66ft) long fell off a wind turbine in Lincolnshire. It is believed the blade came away from one of the 20 turbines at Conisholme Fen near Louth early on Sunday.

Ecotricity, which operates the site, said the turbines’ manufacturers were on site and assessing the damage. A spokesman said the turbines were in a very isolated location and there was no danger to property or the public. An inspection is due to be carried out.

A WIND turbine stood wrecked yesterday with one of its giant 65ft blades torn off — after it was hit by a UFO. THIS could be one of the most significant UFO incidents for years.

If something collided with the wind turbine — as seems certain — there may be residue on the damaged parts that could help solve this mystery. In the last few months there have been two near-collisions between UFOs and police helicopters — and now this.

John Harrison, another witness, described how he looked out of his landing window and saw a “massive ball of light with tentacles going right down to the ground” over the wind farm. He said: “It was huge. With the tentacles it looked just like an octopus.”

Gerade wenn man denkt, schlimmer kann es nicht mehr werden… Jetzt hängen sich Pseudowissenschaftler auch noch bei der Energietechnik rein: Windkraftanlagen als Flughindernis für UFOs… Wie groß mag die Wahrscheinlichkeit dafür sein, dass ein hochentwickeltes Raumschiff nicht einmal einer Windmühle ausweichen kann? Oder entführen die Außerirdischen jetzt nicht nur Kühe, sondern auch Windmühlenflügel?

Das wäre allerdings eine bedrohliche Eskalation…

Big time journalism fail. Aber was will man bei der Sun schon anderes erwarten…

    Wenns in der Sun kommt, dann ist es bestimmt nicht zu blöd für die BILÖD. Auf den Artikel (bzw. den Eintrag im Bildblog) freue ich mich schon!

    England ? Da hat sich vermutlich wieder einmal einer diese alte UFO Serie angesehen. Da waren die UFOs auch immer ziemlich dumm, konnten nicht mal einer Rakete ausweichen die mit 10m/s unterwegs war :), obwohl sie mit dem Laser aus 10km Höhe einen Menschen erschießen konnten.
    Das würde so einen Unfall erklären, der konnte einfach nicht schnell genug ausweichen 🙂

    Meine Güte – sogar CNN berichtet über die UFO-Story, wenn auch mit einem leicht sarkastischem Unterton (siehe Update). Dabei hat doch der britische Guardian das Rätsel längst aufgeklärt: Es gab in der Nacht ein Feuerwerk nahe der Windfarm. Das hat zwar das Windrad nicht beschädigt, die “Lichterscheinungen” sollten damit aber aufgeklärt sein:

    The Guardian News & Media director of digital content, Emily Bell, would like to make it clear that her family had no part in damaging any of those 65ft multimillion-pound turbine blades – but she can help explain those “massive balls of light with tentacles going right down to the ground”, as one onlooker described them to the Sun.

    Those mysterious lights were actually the fireworks Emily’s brother Tim had bought at the local garden centre for the 80th birthday party of dad Peter Bell. “It was a medium-sized fireworks display with absolutely no ballistics, and the fireworks were mostly dropping over my parents’ house. But we were laughing that we could have broken the wind turbine,” jested Emily.
