The encrypted message from the Highland Park rampage suspect

Seven people were killed in the Highland Park rampage on July 4, 2022. The suspected perpetrator had previously posted a 27-page encrypted message on the Internet. It has not yet been solved.

On July 4, the national holiday, there was another rampage in the USA. In Highland Park near Chicago, 22-year-old Robert Crimo shot seven people and injured at least 30. The crime took place during a parade on the occasion of the national holiday, the victims were participants and spectators. Crimo was arrested eight hours after the crime.

The Arcturus Cryptogram

David Oranchak, best known to Cipherbrain readers as one of the three solvers of the second Zodiac message, brought to my attention that the alleged perpetrator had already distributed an encrypted message before the crime. To be precise, it is an entire book of 27 ciphered pages entitled “Arcturus”. The first of these pages reads as follows:

The following 26 pages look very similar. So the Arcturus cryptogram, as I will call it, is a rather long sequence of numbers with no discernible structure.

Crimo has offered this book on Amazon. This is not particularly difficult; I published my Versutus comic book this way as well. Dave Oranchak has thankfully made the Arcturus book available for free as a PDF on his website. A transcription is also already available. Of course, I have included the Arcturus cryptogram (at position 00116) in my Encrypted Book List.

As you can see, the Arcturus book contains little information other than the cryptogram, the title, and some Amazon data. The following symbol is the only illustration:
