Unsolved: Two encrypted farewell letters

There are two unsolved cryptograms on Reddit that are said to have been left by people who took their own lives. Can a reader solve these mysteries?

Deutsche Version

In the Reddit group “Codes and ciphers” I have found many an interesting cryptogram, which I then blogged about. Also in the last weeks there were some interesting posts there.

Two postcards

Blog reader Sebastian pointed out to me that two encrypted postcards were recently featured on Reddit. This one is written in Czech:

Another postcard comes from Great Britain:

Both encrypted messages have already been solved. Maybe a reader still feels like trying his hand at it.

An encrypted suicide note

A year ago, I blogged about three encrypted suicide notes posted on Reddit. They were supposedly written by people who took their own lives. To what extent this is true and whether the suicide attempts were successful is unknown to me.

Then, three weeks ago, there was another such message. The following two-part message is said to be a coded suicide note:

Here is the second part:

This two-part message is unfortunately quite short. However, it might be crackable, as it resembles a Pigpen cipher and how one might work. Will any readers find out more?

Another encrypted suicide note?

Already four years ago, a Reddit user published the following message:

1q8f 2g6y1j4k 8a7e1z8x1f5h1j5k 2a6s1b5j1i8o5p2z2! 4x1v9d2g6h7 2a6l9u2y2r 7f1g9b2m2h 1a2s2e3j2e3q8a?

According to the author, this message comes from a person he knows only from an online forum. He fears that it is a farewell letter or a suicide announcement. Of course, that doesn’t have to be true. Still, it would be interesting to know what this message says. Any readers figure it out? There is no solution in the Reddit comments so far.

If you want to add a comment, you need to add it to the German version here.
